About me

I am a child and adolescent psychiatrist specializing in working with kids and teens who are experiencing psychiatric emergencies or dealing with complex mental health concerns.

Most of my work takes place in the hospital or emergency department, where I provide evaluations, help coordinate care, and guide families and providers toward the best treatment options.

I care deeply about meeting kids and families where they are with curiosity, openness and without judgment. I believe no child’s symptoms exist in isolation; we’re all part of systems, whether a family, school, or other types of communities. I try to understand how these systems shape each person’s experience. I also bring my full self into the room and aim to practice in a compassionate and trauma-informed way.

In addition to clinical work, I’m passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of child psychiatrists. I am the associate program director for the child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship here at 博彩网站.

I originally moved to Portland for medical training—and honestly, because the idea of taking a tram to work sounded fun. But I knew I wanted to stay once I got to the Pacific Northwest. I completed my residency at the University of Washington and my fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry here at 博彩网站. Now, I have split my time between the Doernbecher Psychiatry Consult Liaison Service and the Bridge Clinic, which supports young people transitioning from hospital to outpatient care.

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors with my family and friends. I dabble in creative projects like sewing, knitting and painting. I also love reading and have recently taken up crosswords, which I do enthusiastically but poorly. I aspire to be a gardener, but my plants might tell you otherwise.
